Content Description
The Nevenka Mitra collection includes scrapbooks and recordded news segments (VHS) that document the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1992-1995) and its aftermath. Also included are pre-recorded videotapes of Croatia: Land of 1,100 Islands and 101 Dalmatians (directed by by Jakov & Dominik Sedlar; 45 min.) and an accompanying letter from the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in the United States of America.
The 7 artist tablets are filled with news coverage from a variety of sources with Mitra's marginal notes and demonstrate the scope and range of news about the war available to Americans.
Mitra (born in Yugoslavia) also donated four books that are cataloged separately by title.
