Paintings, 1963 - 1987

This series contains paintings done by Nathan B. Young Jr. Many of his paintings depict people and events important to Black history or to the history of St. Louis, and they have a distinctive style of colorful borders. He began painting in the mid-1960s and the bulk of these paintings were created in the 1970s. Young’s paintings were on exhibit around the St. Louis area several times. There are over 500 paintings total.
